Is the actual goal or the person attempting to achieve it the main factor in driving success?

Thank you for the question. Every new year, almost every person tries to set new goals for themselves, whether that’s for the aspect of their personal interests, fitness, career, friends, and/or family. However, in my case, I find it intriguing to think about which objectives that’ll actually be achieved and which will be totally disregarded. This ultimately leads me to wonder: So, are those accomplishments mainly attained by the actual objective or the individual themselves that are trying to reach it?
