Thank you for your question. Before the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, the perk of working remotely was only experienced by a small part of the workforce. Jack Dorsey, the former CEO of Twitter and current CEO of Square, permitted workers at both organizations to work remotely, essentially establishing a new normal for almost 8,000 employees. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, declared a shift in Facebook policy as well, granting workers to work remotely temporarily. Zuckerberg also speculated that about half of the workers at the company would carry on working remotely even when the COVID-19 pandemic subsided. Subsequently, other companies, such as Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, and numerous California-based tech companies shifted their policies to authorize remote work.
It was commonly speculated that remote work was something that would be extensively established in the future, but the COVID-19 pandemic became the catalyst. Coming up very soon, the biggest corporations may enact remote workplace guidelines.
During this time of transformation around the world, Codility, which is a hiring platform for engineering professionals, analyzed its data that centered around career progress trends. The platform revealed that the system of seeking jobs and hiring has been entirely modified, particularly in California.
